Congratulations Canada - thank you for picking the guy who won't be a Trump toady

So relieved about this. Liberals aren't my first pick but I was worried about CPC winning, especially before Trudeau stepped down. I think watching everything going on with Trump in the US has bolstered Canadian pride and motivated more people to vote this election so that the same thing doesn't happen here.

Per Elections Canada:
Quote:According to the preliminary figures, 7.3 million electors voted at the advance polls in this general election. This is a 25% increase from the 5.8 million electors who voted in advance in the 2021 general election.

I'm curious to see the full voter turnout numbers once they're confirmed.

Mark Carney also won his own riding of Nepean.

Trump hasn't won a new crony here.

Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre scurried away to look for cheese after his concession speech, before his own riding, Carleton, was called. He lost it to Liberal Bruce Fanjoy.

Fanjoy had told the National Post, “Canada has never had a party leader as right wing as Pierre Poilievre. I respect conservatives. I’m not running against conservatives. I’m running for Canada against Pierre Poilievre.”

Yes, Canadian Pride. Canada first and shop Canadian are common slogans, along with elbows up, which is a hockey reference from one of our legends. What a close race. I'm curious to see how Trumpierre's balance of power will change. This was his 8th election and he finally lost when it was most important for him to lose.

Yeah. I really do hate them for that, but Trumpierre would be worse in general.
