There're things that just cannot be a job, ever, and I don't get why proponents of prostitution don't see that. It's not a job to be a hitman, to sell your organs, to participate in bum fights. Some things fundamentally aren't for sale because they're dangerous, undignified, entirely unethical, even if there is ''consent''. Prostitution should be one of those things. If it's a job, consent goes out the window, and it further deepens the divide between ''normal women'' and ''prostitutes'', or rather, ''rapeable women''. One woman can be ''not in the mood'', another woman is always up for sale, regardless of how she feels or what she wants. One woman can reject anal, another woman can only hope her ''customer'' doesn't force it, and if so, it's not rape but just slightly impolite. Besides, I thought they WANTED regulations? How else will they ensure not even more women will die in this line of ''work''? If prostitution is a job, that only allows men to offset any possible shame or guilt onto the prostitute. It normalizes prostitution and helps trap women in it (what do you mean by ''escaping'', it's just a job, right? Completely legitimate and not more destructive to your soul and body than flipping burgers?) and sanitizes the shame and stigma from sex buyers who very much deserve to be seen as disgusting scum.
