Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Isn’t 'Overly Passionate' About Becoming a Mom - Clover - Jun 1 2025 Elle, May 31 2025 https://www.elle.com/culture/celebrities/a64934915/miley-cyrus-motherhood/ Quote:“My stepdad asked me the other day, ‘Why are you the only one without a makeup line?’” Cyrus shared. “I was like, ‘Cause that’s not my passion.’ He goes, ‘That’s the right answer.’ And it made so much sense. It’s like, ‘I don’t have a makeup line because I’m not a makeup artist.’” As a side note, I hate how the article title grossly just like, assumes she's going to "become a mom" anyway? Like it sounds like she'll eventually begrudgingly become one. "You'll change your mind" vibes. Idk. RE: Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Isn’t 'Overly Passionate' About Becoming a Mom - dobby - Jun 2 2025 (Jun 1 2025, 9:55 AM)Clover Elle, May 31 2025 Thanks for sharing this article! You’re so right! It bugs me how the default is assuming that all married women will become moms or will want to; I feel as if the social pressures on women to marry and have kids have been really stressful to navigate personally. I really admire how Miley has remained true to herself and didn’t just create a makeup line or skincare line just because many of her fans would buy it, the way that so many other celebrities have created brands to market to their fans. I think people are getting tired of inauthentic-seeming celebrity brands these days anyway. RE: Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Isn’t 'Overly Passionate' About Becoming a Mom - Magpie - Jun 3 2025 (Jun 1 2025, 9:55 AM)Clover Elle, May 31 2025 You're right, she has been openly childfree for several years now. If they believed her the first time around she wouldn't still be having to answer questions about becoming a mother, because it would be old news at this point. But she's in her thirties and lots of people still believe in women having 'biological clocks' so she's going to be stuck with these questions for at least several more years. She's been handling them diplomatically so props to her. RE: Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Isn’t 'Overly Passionate' About Becoming a Mom - OffMyTit - Jun 3 2025 I can hardly blame society for what has been a physical reality for most women who have ever lived. Women have only really had a choice about motherhood for a few short decades, and that freedom has been geographically, politically, and economically limited. I would assume most of the world’s mothers were similarly less than passionate about the inevitable. It’s a total paradigm shift that may not be very long lasting, so it seems natural that it would take time to deep into the community psyche, if it ever does. |
