4B Sub Removes "Transphobia" Ban - Impress Polly - Dec 6 2025 Saw this new thread on r/4bmovement today mentioning that the place has recently gotten new moderators and discussing new policies over there. Interesting stuff, particularly the new requirement that participants on the sub henceforth must be radfems. Within the new radfem mandate section of the commentary, I noticed that Sheila Jeffreys was mentioned in a positive light. The long-time scholar in political lesbianism, author of Gender Hurts (among other notable books), and prominent organizer against gender ideology was described as "a good place to start" one's research into radical feminism. I thought that especially interesting because there's no way of reading Jeffreys as a trans-inclusive type radfem, in contrast to the more generic choice of Andrea Dworkin. Then I looked over on the main page and noticed that rule 8 (the one on protection of marginalized groups) now only bans "trolling, advocating violence, racism, homophobia". So-called transphobia is no longer mentioned. It also no longer includes references to protected religions either. I furthermore noticed that rule 6 against derailing now bars "oppression olympics" in a new limitation on intersectionality politics. In short, the wokeness of the place has recently been reduced. I consider that progress! Thought it worth hyping up. ![]() Of course, there are still limits to how far one can stray from political correctness. Misandry, for example, is barred. (After all, to hate on men is to focus on them and bullcrap like that.) Stuff like this. One has to work around these limits still. But those are limits imposed by Reddit itself that each sub must comply with or get banned, so they're not really optional policies for any sub. Still, when I read official proclamations like "4B is NOT a movement to punish men", I feel like saying "speak for yourself on that one, sister!" RE: 4B Sub Removes "Transphobia" Ban - dobby - Dec 7 2025 This is really great news! :) thank you for this update! RE: 4B Sub Removes "Transphobia" Ban - nina from canada eh - Dec 8 2025 4b is to not date men and avoid them. they will see that as punishment to not be centred RE: 4B Sub Removes "Transphobia" Ban - Clover - Dec 9 2025 Sadly it looks like the Reddit post linked was deleted by whoever wrote it. 😭 I tried to check Wayback Machine and it wasn't archived. But I'm glad that it sounds like the rules are focused on prioritizing women and based in radical feminism! I think I got it Quote:We've been seeing a lot of confusion and disagreement about 4B, what it means to be 4B, who can be 4B and what types of things we should be discussing on this sub.
