There's a lot that western women might learn from watching how South Korea, and its female citizens, deal with their conservative president's attempt to declare martial law.

"Women have historically been outsiders in political discourse," admits Hyobin Lee, an adjunct professor of politics and ethics at Chungnam National University. "South Korea's proportion of female politicians is dismally low, with only 17.1% of National Assembly members women.
Really hoping this political activism in the form of protests translates to more women running for office. Half the population yet less than one-fifth the representation?!

So inspiring, despite the political situation in the country being a disaster. I hope the women's movement in SK keeps building momentum!
