Recently, there were users on Ovarit frantically putting a positive spin on the CDC removing information on women's and reproductive health. I believe the spin was that the information was "inaccurate" and infested with gender ideology, so it needed to be removed—with the implication that it would someday be restored in the future, but in a much greater state, and entirely focused on women's needs (lmao).
I'm interested to see the positive spin they'll put on this. Perhaps they'll talk about how being in outer space affects women differently than men, therefore women shouldn't go to outer space anyway? Or perhaps they'll take the masks off and say that women should keep their feet firmly on the earth, because you can't be barefoot and in the kitchen if you're helping to lead a scientific research organization? 🤔

I get what you're saying and agree. The big push against "DEI" is just a way for them to dismantle women's rights, racial equality, and anything that doesn't prioritize white dudes. Part of why I didn't dream bigger growing up was because I was almost completely ignorant of women's history and the heights women were able to reach. If you can't imagine it, you're much less likely to create it. This is scary to me for that reason.

I agree, if you can't imagine it, you don't know it's possible. Even if you can imagine it, having real female role models helps young girls know it's possible.
This is the right-wing's form of female erasure. Erase female people's accomplishments from history, and convince them all they were, are, and meant to be are incubators and servants for real people (men).

It's amazing to me the complete lack of self-awareness the women who say this must have to not realize this is the literal textbook-definition same mentality that conservatives have: "there are people I despise with every fiber of my being and I want to see suffer, so anyone who does something that results in their suffering is a praise-worthy ally, or at least worth throwing a 'we don't agree on many things but it's important to not let our differences divide us (because we can hurt more people if we team up)' bone."
They just think that because they hate a smaller amount or variety of people—which are, very importantly, also included in the mass hate campaign by conservatives—for sometimes different—but, again, very importantly, often not actually that different—reasons that they're somehow not conservative or moderate or centrists or whatever. Especially if they frequent sites with actual feminists doing actual feminist discussion about said people, so they can literally irl and mentally to satisfy their "I am a good person so everything I feel is correct and not bad" complex steal their arguments and reasoning.
And so they, thank god, never have to think for themselves and can just live their lives based solely on their initial surface reactions to everything.
