I, too, look at such people and stories for inspiration. I love how intelligent and brave she was, truly a great example.

I suppose I must have an overactive imagination because I am always surprised by the idea that feminism was brought into being by one group of women at one point in time and all expressions of it are derivative. It seems so obvious to me that feminism has existed since the beginning of time in the hearts of girls who know injustice when they see it.
I’m not surprised at all to hear this woman existed because I have imagined many women like her in all the times and places humans have ever lived. I can’t read the article because I cancelled my subscription, but I do hope stories like these help women understand that feminism doesn’t belong to any particular group of women. It belongs to all of us, and always has.
