How Trump’s ‘51st State’ Canada Talk Came to Be Seen as Deadly Serious - Possum - Mar 16 2025 I know this isn't directly related to feminism but posting anyway because an annexation or occupation of Canada by the USA would obviously be catastrophic for Canadian women and girls. I see a lot of "lol fuck Tranada!" style rhetoric in radfem spaces so I'm worried about "feminist" talking points being used to justify attacks on Canadian sovereignty, our government is "woke" therefore the American military needs to mass rape and murder "save" Canadian women. There's a very real fear here that Trump is laying the groundwork for a future "special military operation" to "secure" or "help" Canada. Might make a longer post tomorrow or something with more articles/sources but this article is a good quick starting point, it's already a bit outdated though as it doesn't mention his most recent comments at the G7 meeting. He also has eyes on Greenland and Panama (right now imo Panama or Greenland is the most likely military target) which, again, would result in catastrophic violence toward innocent civilians of Greenland and Panama. And catastrophic violence toward innocent American civilians if Trump ends up triggering WW3 or an American civil war. From the article: Quote:He told Mr. Trudeau that he did not believe that the treaty that demarcates the border between the two countries was valid and that he wants to revise the boundary. He offered no further explanation. [...] Quote:While Mr. Trump’s remarks could all be bluster or a negotiating tactic to pressure Canada into concessions on trade or border security, the Canadian side no longer believes that to be so. |
