Nauseating, shameful, disgusting story. The Netherlands likes to think of itself as progressive and enlightened but the underlying principle isn't empathy and love. If it were, this situation with all these poor women wouldn't continue like that. I hate the museums and all the other tourist crap around prostitution and men who speak lightly of it, joke about prostituted women or raping them, are inherently suspicious to me. Somehow they managed to market this human rights abuse as lighthearted fun, it's disgusting, seedy, sad, pathetic, a disgrace, and I loathe the narrative around places like this, where whenever it's mentioned, people joke about ''sex'', ''fun'', naughty, etc.
