In 1876 (or thereabouts), she wrote an influential paper rebutting the idea that menstruation is a pathology that should prevent women from participating fully in society.

It's never too late to learn about women in history who've paved the way for others. So much women's history seems to be suppressed or just outright ignored because men still hold most of the power, and they don't see women's achievements as relevant or historical, the way they see men's achievements.
