But artificial hormones have only appeared in the mid 20th century. That means that before then, all trans people would've been liars and fakers. Literally just bog standard normie men and women who couldn't even create an artificial hormonal imbalance. They were literally going by on nothing but SelfID.
But what about the future, the oft-fantasised-about transhumanist future where we finally find a way to actually change DNA and create actual opposite sex biology? That means that, compared to that standard (the standard that might actually bring into question our notions of sex and gender), every trans person today is a liar and a faker. Transmedicalists of the future will be positively appaled that masses of trans people were calling themselves the opposite sex, even "cis" despite having exactly 0 opposite sex organs or functionality and being their own sex down to their every cell. They will be flaggedbasted that all these TruTrans people would have their supposedly biological dysphoria go away despite not even experiencing a sliver of biologically existing as the opposite sex. They will see these trans people, who rely purely on superficial traits and societal approval, as absolute fakers whose fake dysphoria got better through purely societal means, no better than any other oreogender or sleepycatgender demanding attention that they supposedly can't live without.
TruTrans claim to be rational in recognising real transitioning and real dysphoria and real men and women from all the fake trend following, but real transitioning is shit (it's literally just overdosing/supressing hormones and experiencing more emphasised effects that your healthy sexed body would normally experience in more subdued ways), and all the wishy-washy fantasising about a future where it isn't shows even they know it. "Buh it's the best we can get! Buh muh dysphoria..." How in the flying fuck does your mental problem in any way affect the reality of your sexed biology? Your only claim to being the opposite sex is being wishy-washy over it, and being more wishy-washy than all the fakers who aren't wishy-washy enough or wishy-washy over the exact things you have arbitrarily decided they should be wishy-washy over. "I'm a woman because I really wanna be" still does not make you a woman in any measurable way outside of your head.
Even some transmedicalists/TruTrans realised how nonsensical all this competition in the legitimacy of one's fantastical gendersoul is so they end up with a somehow even more toxic version of trans: since all the stuff that gets sold as "transitioning" is inadequate bs anyway, you're only valid if you wallow in pity and act suicidal over the fact that you're not the opposite sex. "Sure I may not be able to invert my penis, but I hate that I have a penis, which makes me a woman, since women (according to my TruTrans definition) are defined as people who live in constant distress over not having female bodies and being male instead. Which raises the question of what all those women are who hate their female bodies are - a common, even normal experience of women in a patriarchal world.
Most transmedicalists just draw an arbitrary line on what is TruTrans based on what they themselves want. If they have to be "closeted", then TruTrans is based in how desperately they wish they didn't have to be. If they want a 24/7 lifestyle as anime girls compared to fakers who only don pink bras in the bedroom with a dominatrix, then that's TruTrans. If they want to inject estrogen compared to men who merely crossdress and act feminine, then that's TruTrans. If they don't want to acknowledge their penis and only engage in anal sex, then that's TruTrans. If they are pining after facial feminisation surgery, then that's TruTrans. And ofc bottom surgery, also a great divider of TruTrans vs transtrenders. Ultimately though, none of these things make you a woman. It's watching people argue over whose religious sect is more valid, despite both being bullshit.
