Again and again in my Facebook feed, I see articles about child rapists with some sort of caption indicating that the perp is not trans nor drag queen. And I want to scream that they should care about the victims no matter who is the perp. But they never post these articles. They refuse to stand up for all victims. Yes, blame the conservative politicians, the “progressive” politicians, the priests, the clergy, the rabbis, the daycare workers, the teachers, the coaches, the church school teachers, the drag queens, the trans activists, and whoever else rapes children. Can we blame them ALL?

The abuse of children should appall everyone regardless of who the perpetrator is. NAMBLA shouldn't even be allowed to exist.

No, it shouldn’t. NAMBLA advocates for rape. Children cannot consent. It is an organization promoting rape of children.

I feel like with these things both sides end up accusing the other of not caring about the victims whenever there is any discussion of the political implications of a tragedy. I find it more inconsiderate to shut oneself off from these wider implications because they're what allows us to prevent the crimes from happening in the first place. Yes, I care about the victims, but I care about who the perps are and why a whole lot more because they are where the crime starts. And the conservative attitude that pedophilia is only bad if done by brown or trans identified men is just as unproductive as the liberal idea that TIMs are harmless because they have pink brains. Both of these obfuscate the male nature of these crimes.
