News Idaho House starts 2025 session with proposal to challenge same-sex marriage

Same-sex marriage has been protected since 2015 when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled 5–4 in the landmark Obergefell v. Hodges decision.

"The court has overstepped its boundary," quoted Scott. "It undermined the right of voters to determine their own state's (laws surrounding same-sex marriage). So the purpose of this resolution is just to reaffirm our state authority to regulate marriage."

Sigh... Well, here we go.
I would say it's strange how little traction this got on Ovarit, but...it really, really isn't. 🤷 Why would a bunch of mean old straight conservative women give a damn about this? (Addendum: I know there's nice old straight conservative women who do care; they just don't seem to express it on Ovarit.)
I've been wondering for a while if all the right-wing kerfuffle about trans isn't even about trans itself, as much as using it as a way to get to lesbian and gay rights. The right force-teams LGB with T as much as the left does, because it's to their advantage.
