Sigh... Well, here we go.

I would say it's strange how little traction this got on Ovarit, but...it really, really isn't. 🤷 Why would a bunch of mean old straight conservative women give a damn about this? (Addendum: I know there's nice old straight conservative women who do care; they just don't seem to express it on Ovarit.)

I've been wondering for a while if all the right-wing kerfuffle about trans isn't even about trans itself, as much as using it as a way to get to lesbian and gay rights. The right force-teams LGB with T as much as the left does, because it's to their advantage.

An excellent point, and unfortunately, it seems to be working. Not looking forward to the huge slew of anti-Pride posts that are going to pop up in June...

I think some naive part of me thought the US conservative party pulled their heads out of their asses over LGB rights, acknowledging that that fight is over, LGB couples deserve the same rights as straight couples. But no. They are as bigoted and hateful as always. They focused on trans because they noticed T criticisms got more attention than LGB criticisms, but it didn't mean their disdain for the LGB went away. Now I assume conservative women on Ovarit are going to be looking like the "side eye monkey meme" as we have to deal with the planned destruction of progressive laws and ideals for many groups of people.
