Quote:Americans searching for reproductive health resources will have one less option after President Donald Trump’s new administration on Monday made shuttering a government website focused on women's health care among the first moves of his second presidency.

Hours after Trump was inaugurated as the country’s 47th president, it was reported that the website ReproductiveRights.gov shutdown.

The website provided information on “birth control, medication, abortion services, and other preventive health services, as well as important facts about privacy, rights associated with reproductive health care, and how people with and without health insurance can obtain reproductive health care,” according to the Office of Population Affairs.

This is going to be the most misogynistic administration since women started voting, and it just guts me to know gender critical women helped bring it to power.

Half the posts on the Ovarit frontpage are still just complaining about trans stuff and rehashing the same handful of criticisms of TIMs, despite Trump already passing the EO about trans stuff. Barely a peep on the reproductive health website going down or the planned ICE raids (which will harm women too btw, he's not raiding the obnoxious white American TIM software engineers or the fictional boogeyman Haitian dog eaters. He's going to raid innocent families, women and children.).

Tomorrow I am going to block every feminist internet space except here on my router because my blood pressure will not survive this administration.

I might do the same. This isn’t a time for rage-posting, it’s for feminist activism, Second Wave style.

I'm worried stuff like this will keep happening and it will be largely ignored or go unnoticed even by gender-critical women; some women seem to have tunnel vision with gender ideology. I feel disgusted seeing so many gender-critical women defending and praising Trump and Elon and mocking feminists who criticize them. It seems like they’re losing sight of the whole picture and jumping on the bullying train of acting like anyone who says something negative about Trump has TDS and should be dismissed. Just because Trump did a good thing (though it might backfire in some way with their forced-birther language) doesn’t mean that Trump and his administration are not a threat to women. I literally saw someone on twitter calling Trump a TERF, omfg. It’s hard enough getting people to open their eyes to the harms of gender ideology without gender-critical people supporting and defending sexual predators who incited an insurrection and pretty much bought the presidency. It’s hard to pull women out of a pseudo pro-women cult when they look around and see that the “pro-women” alternative is commending "Mr. Grab 'em by the pussy" and defending his breeding fetish billionaire puppetmaster's antics. Also, Trump just pardoned the January 6th insurrectionists, but apparently no one should be upset or alarmed because he knows what a woman is. Yay, ‘Murica! 🥴

I think instead of saying 'gender critical women helped bring it to power' I'd say 'the American left establishment's refusal to acknowledge Americans' concerns about gender ideology helped bring it to power'.

I think we need to firmly take the term "gender critical" back to its feminist origins and not willingly give it up to the anti-trans people/movement. The women who helped bring this right-wing agenda to power are not gender-critical women, they are transgender-criticial at best. I agree with Dr. Dee's point of focusing the blame on the neoliberal establishment's refusal to understand the harms transgender ideology does to women's rights and for daring to disparage every single woman and girl so much by promoting transgenderism. As much as I am mad at right-wing/anti-trans women for being a part of this happening... I think they are indeed not without blame, but focusing the blame at them is what the USA's primary "left-wing" (neoliberal) political party wants, so the focus is off of expecting them to do the right thing in their politics.
