This is awful on so many levels. Like the fact death might have preventable — it says she went to two different hospitals and was just sent home with medication both times before dying the next morning. Medical misogyny strikes again. And then because this sounds like a nightmarish hypothetical thought experiment in an abortion argument, not something that should be happening in real life. Now the grandparents will have to care for a baby that might be disabled, while the lawmakers pocket donations from evangelic lobby groups.

Also I included the evangelic bit as a general rant when I first wrote this, but then I looked it up and I was right lol

This is so unbelievably fucked. I’ve been thinking about it all day - something so tragic has happened to this woman, and she doesn’t even get the right to die with dignity, having less rights than a CORPSE.

Now her already grieving loved ones have to deal with the horror of seeing her body forced through this, her young child can’t understand what’s happening, the fetus (if it survives) will be highly disabled and never know its mother, and her own fucking coworkers get the impossible choice of letting her pass on (something nearly 100% of them would want) or going to jail themselves. So much unnecessary pain on top of an already horrible situation.

Fuck every single person that enabled this to happen. Pro-life my ass
