The kindrad.org resources page is due for an update. I've been meaning to update it since Ovarit went down. The most obvious change would be Ovarit to Vexxed. Since clovenhooves.org is now a thing since I created kindrad, I'll add that to the list of websites too.

I think I'm going to remove the "support" kindrad webpage, and have the "Support organizations that benefit women" section instead point to the "Women of the World Unite" forum. (I'll need to go make posts for every women's organization on that webpage that I have not shared on here yet, before I remove that page.) Kindrad is meant to be pretty static and unchanging website, and the support web page is a bit too likely to need changes too often, as a new organizations are created and old ones might cease to exist.

Maybe I should replace Feminist Current with like Total Woman Victory and Medusa Rising. Wasn't that Megan Murphy's website and then she decided to pivot to conservative talking points or something..? Can't remember.

If you have any recommended books, videos, websites that you think would be a good addition to the kindrad resources page please let me know! πŸ’œ

TODO list:

  • Change Ovarit to Vexxed
  • Add clovenhooves.org
  • Port all women's organizations in the "support" page over to their respective countries in the Women of the World Unite forum, have the support women's organizations section point to that forum, remove the support web page
  • Add Total Woman Victory and Medusa Rising
  • Add Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender?
  • Verify all the website resources are still relevant and functioning

I think maybe adding spinster.xyz would be a good idea?

Not really sure about replacing the mention of Ovarit with that other new site though... I've been thinking a lot about those articles you shared about the techniques that neo-Nazis use for spreading alt-right white-supremacist propaganda ("The Rhetoric Tricks, Traps, and Tactics of White Nationalism"), and how the goal is to "demoralize" other groups of people who disagree into recognizing how futile it is to argue and counter these sentiments, while "the majority of these white nationalists also try to be careful to not outright say that they hold these neo-nazi beliefs" and how saying the more extreme comments that could alienate others will be removed if reported while not ever banning those members, but other comments that dance around those beliefs without saying it as plainly will remain uncensored as "free speech",and how others who try to refute those sentiments will end up censored for vague reasons that aren't applied consistently to everyone, like being off-topic, dehumanizing language, derailing, userbase accusations, or referring to other posts or comments or "conflicts", and so on.

And I feel like so much of what was said in that article are tactics I've been increasingly seeing on that site, to be honest. And enough of the mods seem to align with portion of the userbase that uses those tactics (like on their stances on other feminist issues unrelated to race or immigration, at least) enough to not want to warn, censor, or ban the handful of site regulars who align with white nationalist beliefs, while censoring other actual feminists who disagree on that and get a little argumentative or fed up when those white nationalist site users (whether they're on the left or right) derail our posts lol.

I'm doubting whether it's even a good idea to refer others to a site that's sending enough white women down the alt-right white-supremacist pipeline where GC women of color there have no way to be heard and respected because even if they do start to internalize and align with with the dehumanizing sentiments that white-supremacists feel towards POC, that's still not enough for them to be accepted on the site lol. Since it seems like a POC espousing those same sentiments is more likely to reveal how offensive, dehumanizing, and not-normal those anti-POC sentiments are, even when coming from white GC women. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ I think that's why mods and admins don't like seeing POC active on the site and talking about the same subjects from the same perspectives that many of the conservative-leaning GC white women do since it reveals how the only way for a POC to stick around on that site is if they become self-hating enough to tolerate those sentiments without speaking up on it at all or being okay with being censored regularly if they do speak up. It's not a good look for the site, and I guess that the admins & mods are aware of that, at least. Even if they also feel like their white nationalist site regulars are too valuable to censor, ban, or alienate, no matter how many others have been alienated by a handful of just 5 to 15 vocal site regulars and all the silent lurking users who agree with them through their upvotes and through targeting others with their downvotes.

Idk, I kind of think it's worrying if any more GC-leaning women or girls find out about that site, join it, or lurk it, since the GC-to-altright-white-supremacist pipeline seems inevitable. I'm not sure it's very healthy for anyone lol.

I think adding the Democrats for an Informed Approach to Gender page is a brilliant idea!

There's a good radfem youtube channel runawaysiren940, and I was wondering actually if you think that could be a good resource to link?

Even though she is deceased, Brandi Kochan's videos on her runawaysiren940 youtube channel were very informative, unbiased, logical, easy-to-understand, well-scripted, and I feel like it would be awesome if her words and her voice could live on and inspire other radfems since they could see how relatable Brandi was to them. Brandi was Gen Z, and a black lesbian American woman who didn't conform to gender stereotypes and she talked at points about stuff like the American healthcare system, and about how access to diabetes type 1 medications in the American healthcare system isn't always easy, and stuff like that, and tbh I feel like the sorts of stuff she talked about and how she said her perspectives on things are a much better representation of radical feminist women than many other women online who label themselves GC or TERFs and who have much bigger followings.

Idk, i feel like she's made so many good shorter and longer informative videos that are so comprehensive on different radfem topics and that are well-researched that her page would be a great resource to link on kindrad, if you think so too!

Well shit, when you put it like that... Sigh... I don't know what to do. I honestly didn't want clovenhooves to be like, first on the list of websites, because unlike Vexxed, this place is selective about who can join. Vexxed, with all its issues with right-wing-ish atmosphere, still does technically allow "all women," they just... kind of shrug when it just so happens that there's a decent amount of groups of "all women" that aren't interested in being in a community that enables anti-immigrant, homophobic, pro-conservative rhetoric... Shit sucks. >:(

I think I'm hoping that any woman who wants to find a community and stumbles upon kindrad.org and resonate with the content, actually would be interested in being a positive change in the direction of Vexxed? Like that's why I suggest women here don't delete their Vexxed accounts and I still offer invite codes to women I meet on various radfem online communities. I think Vexxed can change if enough feminist/left-leaning women join and start participating. So I guess I'm trying to be hopeful.

I was going to suggest adding radfem Tumblr/radblr as a resource on kindrad, but it's sort of hard to link to. It seems pretty dependent on the post hashtags, which get misused a lot, or finding the right people to follow.

Yeeeaahhhh Tumblr blogs feel super volatile. Like, usernames can change frequently, users can just shut down their blogs frequently, users can make their blogs private, etc. But I have been thinking of making a forum post with a bunch of the radblr blogs I follow, hopefully as a way to make it easier for women to get started with radblr by seeding their blog with some cool accounts to follow to start. And others can chime in with their favorite blogs too. :)

And yeah, unfortunately a decent amount of times the radblr tags get misused by trolls, so they end up being useless at times. 😞
