I think we should have a campaign to take down misogynistic sub-reddits. Do a boycott of the companies that advertise on reddit.

I think women should pretend to be transwomen disappointed at the horrible transphobia of sub-reddits that leave transwomen out of the super fun degradation and humiliation makes reserve for “cos women.”

Whenever there aren’t any transwomen being water boarded naked or whatever the case, pipe up to ask why and demand representation. Perhaps AI could be of use providing them with examples.

We should be setting up our own spaces for serious discussion anyway.

There's a subreddit for that: /r/BanFemaleHateSubs

I have to watch how frequently I engage with it, though, because sometimes the firehose of misogyny is just... a lot.

(Just realized this sub is already mentioned in the article, but I'll leave this here just in case it's helpful.)

Reddit will never get rid of porn or female hate subs, because the men who frequent them are largely also NEETs (Not engaged in Employment, Education or Training) who spend all of their time chronically online and driving up the engagement on the site, which then allows Reddit to generate ad revenue.

Honestly the best thing you can do is install a ad-blocker and eat up Reddit's bandwidth as much as you can to drive the value of advertising on their website down.

It is a lot. r/Pornismisogyny was also a sub I used to go to but I think you get banned if you’re gender critical.

I think originally I was hoping to bring attention to the issue but I couldn’t keep consistent with posting. But I do think that if enough people post about it, reddit will eventually not be looked at as advertiser friendly anymore, forcing them to fix the issue.

This was an interesting read about Reddit planning to introduce paywalled subreddits (not for current subs, but new ones that would be set up)

https://www.techspot.com/news/106802-reddit-ceo-confirms-plans-introduce-paywalls-exclusive-content.html

The speculation among Reddit users is that it's to get in on OnlyFans type stuff, so that OF and other content creators who use Reddit to promote themselves don't have to direct people away from Reddit, and Reddit can get their cut of that sweet, sweet cash.

yeah, porn and misogyny subs ain't going anywhere.
