Discussion Misogynistic thread on reddit
This thread on reddit makes me so fucking angry. I’m so sick of them being dismissive and labeling the misogynistic abuse that is female socialization as “gender affirming”. Me hating my body has never been “gender affirming”.

It really goes to show how absolutely misogynistic transgenderism is when they try to paint the absolutely unnecessary plastic surgery women get due to the suffocating beauty culture as "gender affirmation."
Like how Victoria Smith wrote in Hags, women under patriarchy are expected to be the 3 F's: feminine, fertile, and fuckable. This completely aligns with bullshit like this Reddit thread (and the misogynistic attitudes of TIMs that claim being female is "a hole waiting to be fucked" or whatever the line was). Fauxgressives. Do they even hear themselves when they make such claims? Probably not, since they've twisted themselves into pretzels so much with their mental gymnastics that their heads ended up muffled inside of their own assholes.
Not to better reflect her sense of self--to better reflect a man's idea of a woman to get ahead in this male-controlled world.
Her sense of self likely has nothing to do with the way she looks.
So ultimately they're right, it's just like "gender affirming care" but not in the way they think.

If the phrase were used in this sense I’d have less of a problem with it. It’s the fact they’re obfuscating the real issue. I think what you said about her reflecting a man’s idea of women, is accurate

I really dislike how TRA and other misogynists of the ''progressive'' type use women of all kinds to make ridiculous points on transgenderism. It also happens with women with hormonal disorders, where they see it as gender-affirming if a woman wants to do something about the beard growth she's having due to her hormone imbalance, or where they argue that she's not a ''real woman'' either, just like a TIM. All nuance is stripped from the reality of this situation, this woman had plastic surgery and the reasons why may be a long and very complex list but they reduce it to ''see??? Women do it too, they undergo gender-affirming care''. What's also interesting here is that they call it gender-affirming in the first place: is being a woman just being young and beautiful to them? They place this choice of hers on the axis of gender rather than more logical reasons, so they think you're more of a woman if you're hot?
However, when SHE does it, a real woman, it's hideous, ridiculous, vain, vapid, ugly, stupid, whereas actual ''gender-affirming care'' is seen as a basic human right and more important than anything in the world.
When a man doesit (such as FFS, which one comment mentions) everyone is all ''you look amazing! So feminine and so much better than X Y and Z cis women!''
Even now their double standards show. And of course it's okay to call her a b*tch.
I don't know this woman or what she does and says, I'm not an American, so maybe she's a horrible person, but if so, they should focus on that.
