Nor have there been first person claims of rape from released female hostages. The same witnesses who claimed “hearing women raped” are of the same group that said there were 40 beheaded babies (there was one child killed) and babies baked in ovens. The idf itself chose to walk back the latter.I’m of the opinion that both idf soldiers and hamas are likely guilty of war crimes against women. Men use rape as a weapon of war against women in virtually every war. I don’t see a reason to believe this is any different.

In December of 1964, my parents were in the vicinity of Sproul at Berkeley where the free speech movement kicked off with Mario Savio. My parents were not fans, but what if they were or the government assumed they were?
Would they be deported to Korea with the option of leaving me to be adopted by some white couple? I mean, seriously here. But this is what we are doing to Fulbright scholars who write opeds now.
And to be totally fair about what’s happening, Jewish people are so advantaged, currently, by the government that more unaffiliated persons are keeping a bit of distance as you would with any power dynamic. Which I don’t like.
