I (45F) had a double mastectomy due to breast cancer. Two months later, my husband (45M) demands we have sex because “it’s been too long”. He basically issued an ultimatum. So I finally agreed but asked him to not touch my chest. I had tissue expanders in and everything there was extremely sore.
He agreed but in the middle of sex he started grabbing my chest. It hurt. I begged him to stop. He didn’t listen to me, just kept going.
I’ve been trying to forgive and forget and move past it but I can’t. I told him I want a divorce and applied for an apartment. He tells me I’m being dramatic and that he didn’t cause any permanent damage. I don’t think I can ever trust him again. My family is telling me I’m overreacting, that men have needs. That’s the only reason I’m here. They’re telling me that expecting my husband to honor that boundary was unrealistic.

Temporary_Wealth_534 Update: An apartment is opening up next week. I’ll take the day off and move out while he’s at work. Thanks everyone for supporting me. I’m so glad I didn’t quit my job like he wanted me to when I found out I have cancer. I would have been stuck with him.

This reminds of a comment I saw in a Brazilian feminist tiktok page: that an older woman had cervical cancer and had done a surgery, her husband manipulated her into sex and she ended up dying from hemorrhage.
I am glad Temporary_Wealth_534 didn't have the same tragic end, and is able to financially support herself to get out of that situation.

I recently had a minor transvaginal procedure done, and before the procedure they warned me repeatedly that there was to be NO penetrative sex for 48 hours. I was like, the fact that you're so insistent about this means it must be a problem, huh? 🙃 Apparently women should accept any and all suffering as their lot, but men can't go 48 hours without an orgasm even if it'll cause bodily injury to their female partner. 🤢
