Article Nearly 40% of Gen Z women identify as atheist, agnostic or have no faith: Barna
Quote:As they grapple with a profound disconnection from their parents and older adults in general, nearly 40% of young adult women in Generation Z — those born between 1999 and 2015 — now identify as religiously unaffiliated, according to new data released by Barna Research.
The data from 2,000 adults and teenagers between the ages of 13 and 24 shows that 38% of Gen Z women (ages 18 to 24) currently identify as atheist, agnostic or say they have no faith at all. This is higher than the 32% of men in the same age group who said they are religiously unaffiliated.

HELL YEAH!!! I mean...well anyway, I approve.
This is actually a very significant development. Traditionally, while religious leaders are almost always male and the divinities people worship skew heavily male as well (by no coincidence), most religious people, by contrast, have generally been women. Most churches have traditionally had a somewhat female-skewing membership and so forth. So it's a major change for religiosity itself to suddenly be a mostly male phenom amongst the youngest generation. Less male worship among girls and women can only be a good thing.
