This is what happens when men are emboldened and given unprecedented levels of authority over others. Copycats want in on it. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens in other major blue cities.
If these guys are caught, I'm sure they'll claim it was a prank and they meant no harm and didn't intend to take or copy any information. Which won't explain why they had flash drives.
I'm on the fence as to whether I believe they had zero affiliation with Real DOGE. The MAGA hats seem a little too on the nose though.
Also, I would not be surprised if some, maybe all, the employees these assholes were trying to intimidate were women. Front-line desk staff often are, except for security guards who might be present.
