The stuff about paraquat is scary, but the article also talks a lot about glyphosate, and this stood out to me. Boldface is mine:

Quote:While most of the debate around glyphosate has centered on cancer, some studies have found possible links to reproductive harm, developmental disorders, endocrine disruption and even childhood cancers.

Possibly a biological cause for trans? If so, and that's a big if, it wouldn't be the only one. Anything that causes "reproductive harm, developmental disorders, endocrine disruption" could be suspect.

I don't know what the answers are, either. Take away these chemicals and global food supplies would likely be affected and disrupted. Any good solutions would probably be gatekept by big companies for profit purposes.

I don’t understand what endocrine disruption has to do with thinking you’re not your sex.

I don’t think we need a biological reason for a phenomenon which is already adequately explained by spsychosocial patterns.
Some of it must be inherent to human sexual psychology- the cult of Cybele in ancient times, the Skoptsy more recently, and no doubt more , plus any number of individuals in the pre-glyphosate past suggest some people have always hated their sexed bodies, or been vulnerable to mass psychological distress about them. Add the internet, porn, the various stresses and dysfunctions of our culture.
