The thing is, immigration is not a feminist issue except to the far right that wants to hijack us for their agenda. And the problem with Joe Rogan and Charlie Kirk isn’t that they’re men, it’s that they’re far right. Joe Rogan accidentally did something right when he platformed Dr. Debra Soh’s work on autogynephilia, and Ovarit (or was it still r/GC?) rightly linked to it. But then he betrayed women by endorsing Trump.

It is absolutely a feminist issue when loads of dysfunctional men come from (sometimes straight up theocratic) cultures that have far, far worse levels of misogyny that is completely normalised, engage in disproportionate levels of violence over women (both local and the ones they bring in) and then get their misogyny and straight up criminal behaviour excused or downplayed with claims of racism and cultural relativism.

Like, at least the theocratic christofascists are overwhelmingly seen as crazy by educated people here (not least because atheism is a lot cooler in the eyes of hedonistic self-absorbed men with a persecution complex than feminism), whereas you are not allowed to be racist and criticise other cultures even when they're straight up immigrating into yours and bringing their extreme violent patriarchal and religious baggage with them.

Admittedly it goes both ways - these men are also used to get white men off the hook for their misogyny, but the whole point is that bullshit cultural or religious or white supremacist ideas should not excuse misogyny, which is literally what keeps happening, both in progressive and conservative circles - it's either "This guy from a culture with honour killings is just a normal person and you're racist to imply that sort of culture is bad" or it's "The brown guy from a culture with honour killings is an evil (slur) and you must be obedient and servile to your white Nigel husband if you want him to protect you from him".

Even if females were theoretically able to leave their husbands, not too many would leave their male children. And in any case there’s little support in allowing more afghani migration period.

I never understood the handmaid’s tale interpretation of Lydia as a feminist until in the frame of Afghanistan. Lydia was part of a cohert to ensure safe childbirth so as to ensure the continuation of Giliad, one that’s likely being constituted in Afghanistan right now along with an all female kapo unit to endure females wear eye patches in addition to not talking. Because if you’re gonna get beat, you’re more likely to survive it from a woman.

I disagree strongly, which is why I’m not on Vexxed anymore. I’ve never been much interested in the “what kind of feminist are you?” personality quiz, but if that is feminism then I’m not a feminist.

I mean...prioritising men's rights and patriarchal norms over women's liberation because race or culture or economics or Nigel is simply at odds with feminism. This isn't any kind of purity politics gatekeeping eat-your-own philosophy but literally what the point of feminism is supposed to be.
And it doesn't really contribute anything to merely say you disagree without being able to explain why. Most people disagree with feminism by default because we live in a patriarchy where we're taught to prioritise male interests and unfortunately even feminist forums see being expected to critically examine this as "hostile" and "combatative", which is also why the quality of discussion tends to inevitably be so low. But I would ask you to examine it even if just in your own time, for your own sake.

btw you should clean up your comment because for some reason you quoted my comment like 10 times without adding anything.

I saw the problem with my comment’s formatting. I don’t know how it happened and it’s way beyond me to clean it up on my phone—I tried and only made it worse.

I’m starting to give up on feminist spaces. I can’t seem to find any that aren’t either TRA or far-right.

Well, when it comes to radical feminism, even wolf and Kara Dansky and Lierre Kieth in particular have completely sold out. Going all the way to the uk to shame a globalist feminist conference with your Zionist ‘rape is not resistance” sign. Tell the idf that, then. Plus there’s the fact that Wolf hired focus on the family’s publicist before that, started “hands across the aisle” with a federalist writer in 2015-2016. And that’s WoLF, the first group most think of as radfem, when it’s actually filia that’s closest to what many here espouse.

We're not "far right", we're just not woke. There's a difference. We're not conservatives at all. Nobody here voted for Trump or for any analogous political party or faction that may apply in whatever country they live in. I seriously doubt that anyone here is a Zionist or any of this other nonsense likewise. Speaking for myself, I'm just someone who really tends to view issues primarily through a feminist lens, which just simply means asking one's self like "How does this help women?" No, I just don't care where answering that question vis-a-vis whatever issue lands me on the left-right spectrum of opinions, I really don't. I care about the real world impact on women's lives.

That said, I'm perfectly fine with you disagreeing with me on immigration policy, you don't have to leave, yeesh. All I was saying before about community rules was that debates like these are generally considered okay to have in the more principled women's lib type spaces that I go to and that I think that's fine and a good thing really. My personal opinion about the immigration stuff is that sometimes we really do just seem to gift fascist parties issues like these by not being serious or honest about them.

Yeah, WoLF, and to another extent WDI, have disappointed me. I used to be a monthly donor to both. I cancelled both my donations to them a little while after Trump won the presidency. I just could not believe how non-stop it was about TRANS TRANS TRANS!! And like, yeah, it is important, but it's as if it was the only issue affecting women... What's even more annoying to me is that WoLF sent out an email asking to fill out a survey about WoLF for regular donors. In that they had options on what the wanted WoLF to focus on -- they even had checkmarks for things like abortion rights, prostitution/pornography, etc. basically other political issues that radfems tend to focus on, and I made sure to write in the comment field to please also focus on many other topics that affect women... It seems my opinion was not the popular one, as ever since that survey, they just continued with TRANS TRANS TRANS!!! And the fact that after Trump won, they just continued forward on prioritizing trans left a horrible taste in my mouth. So I cancelled my monthly donations.

A few weeks ago I happened to check my "Feminism" label in my email, and was pissed that, with all the things the Trump admin has been doing since the election, all the women that have gotten fired in government positions, the hanging-on-by-a-thread social safety net programs that have had slashed funding, the abortion and reproductive service providers that have had to kowtow to a pro-forced-birth administration, the immigrant women who have been getting ripped away from their families by ICE, they STILL were full-speed-ahead on TRANS TRANS TRANS!!! Holy shit, the one that sent me raging was one from WoLF saying "It's Been A Massive Year In Women's Rights Legislation" -- holy hell fuck you, you tonedeaf assholes.

I honestly don't doubt they've been "bought out." The conservatives of America have a lot of funds available to slowly twist radfem organizations into focusing on issues that benefit the right-wing by carving out the feminist parts and throwing them in the trash.
