4b’s best analog was the female separatist movement in the 1990s, and the most mainstream manifestation was michfest, which was a 4 day gathering where women could just live with other women without men. It was also a place to connect and get community.

We all know why michfest failed. So too with any widespread organizing or even talking about these concepts.

There are women who are abstaining from men, but not for feminist reasons. They just have had bad experiences with men. They aren't radical, but they are just living their life without children and men.

Bit of a necro, but I'm new here and have so much to say about this topic. I'm entertaining making a thread on 4B/separatism elsewhere on this site to share my experiences and encourage others to do the same.

I'm an American woman and I think 4B/female separatism is not only feasible, but necessary in our current climate. I have no plans on ever getting married or having children. I have no interest in dating, and feel much safer and happier eliminating toxic male influence on my life. All male influence is corrupting to some degree, but it has a particularly heightened influence in the romantic context. 4B is the closest thing to separatism that we can have while still existing in our communities and societies. I still have to work at a place that hires men, I still have to interact with men at the grocery store and such, I still have to see their ugly grizzled mugs on the street, but I have so much less male energy invading my space and life and mindset now that I've gone 4B.

I live alone, which I highly recommend, but I would also love to have a female roommate at some point in the future if she were similarly ideologically aligned. No part of my day is spent caring for, doting on, cleaning up after, cooking for, being a human fleshlight for, listening to, or serving men. Even if I found a Nigel who independently hates porn because it harms women, is vegan, was willing to pay for everything AND do all the cooking and cleaning, I would still not be interested. No man is worth more to me than freedom, peace, and solitude.
