I'm shocked there isn't a chapter in my local (liberal) area.

But then again, the trans stuff might have pushed it out (women are so passe 😒😒😒)

There are a lot of big cities without a chapter. The organization has helped retained chapters.

(Mar 24 2025, 8:19 PM)Wrongtoy I respect that you’re doing this, but to me this is like giving money to GLAAD or the National Lesbians who are about as tim infested. Same with Planned Parenthood.

NOW skews older/middle aged women and they aren't super pro trans. It is more of a performative thing-- especially at the national level. There are a few chapters that are very liberal. But it skews more second wave-ish at most chapters.

No it is not. Because NOW is a membership based group where members vote for leadership.

The LGBTQIA+ page was rough to look through - virtually no mention of lesbians, which is especially rich given NOW’s infamous treatment of lesbians in the 60s đŸ€Ș Guess I’ll wear my lavender menace t-shirt at my first local chapter meeting, and “be the change” or whatever

We NEED your voice at the national convention in July. Please consider attending virtually. The main reason there are few local chapters is that national stopped encouraging them. Feminist women built the organization and feminist women can change it. I think you will see more and more support of lesbians from the grassroots membership. But we need votes to make changes.
Alright, you’ve sold me. It’s on my calendar and will do everything in my power to attend đŸ«Ą
