Need cite for TIMs who never have bottom surgery
Need cite for TIMs who never have bottom surgery
I am sick to death of seeing YouTube videos by liberals scandalized by and bemoaning the poor TIMs with female genitals having to shower with men in men's prisons if they are ejected from women's prisons. I could swear I read somewhere that a surprisingly (or not) high percentage of TIMs never have bottom surgery. If someone can give me a good source link for that info, I'd love to post it on these annoying videos and point out that maybe they should be a little more concerned about women in women's prisons being forced to shower with prisoners who have male genitals.
Femina Only around 13% of TIMs remove the big D according to this : https://archive.ph/gJXIl
TIFs are even less likely to having had bottom surgery at only about 3%!
HildegardVonBees According to this literature review: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6626314/ , 5-13% of TIMs have had genital surgery. But it's only as good as the data, and as far as I know there is no current, authoritative source for this measure.
ProxyMusic Most of the underlying "data" in that paper comes from the anonymous online survey of TIPs, or people pretending to be TIPs whilst filling out the survey,Β in the US conducted and published by the Williams Institute (TRA propaganda mill) in 2015.Β The survey itself is a mess.Β
Also, the paper itself presents different figures in the same paragraph that you referenced.
Quote:Genital GCS is generally less common than chest surgery, with prevalence rates of about 25β50% for transgender men and 5β10% for transgender women (7,9,32). For transgender women, genital GCS comprises a number of procedures, including vaginoplasty (most commonly intestinal or penile inversion) with labiaplasty and/or clitoroplasty, penectomy, and orchiectomy. Transgender women [self] report bottom surgery at rates between 5β13%.
I think this might be what you're looking for: https://ovarit.com/o/GenderCritical/200080/the-vast-majority-of-tips-do-not-have-bottom-surgery-according-to-tips-themselve/e0850c01-721d-43a8-b50f-2efb248a0458
Gonna archive it since Ovarit's going down soon:

Yes! That must be where I read it - thanks a lot. Doesn't sound like this is being very consistently or authoritatively tracked, alas. Like so much other missing data related to "transitioning." Why that in itself isn't a screaming red flag to liberals, I'll never understand.
I'm a bit confused by the terminology in ProxyMusic's quote from the Williams Institute paper. Does "transgender men" refer to TIF's, or have I got that backwards?

Quote:First, transgender females (females assigned βmaleβ at birth) are usually identified at higher rates than transgender males (males assigned βfemaleβ at birth).
